  1. Thanks for the link, I have found mindfulness very helpful. I have recently read the book” The Mindfulness Workbook for Addiction: A Guide to Coping with the Grief, Stress and Anger that Trigger Addictive Behaviors” which would I feel would help people who use both 12 step and non 12 step recovery methods. “Recover! Stop Thinking Like An Addict and Reclaim Your Life with the PERFECT Program
    by Stanton Peele and Ilse Thompson” also talks a lot about mindfulness but is aimed at non 12 step recovery. I feel the sections on metta meditation are really useful.


    1. To readers: Peele is a strong critic of the disease model, abstinence-based approaches and AA. If that’s your cup of tea, this book will be up your alley. If not, be warned.
