An article on
how to open a wet day center. What a pathologizing, deficit-oriented article! Our detox works with this population every day in a drug and alcohol free setting and, while this population may behave badly in hospitals and other settings, we experience very few problems. (Fewer than 3% of admissions were asked to leave.)
One friend responded with this quote as a test for any intervention:
“If you want to treat an illness that has no easy cure, first of all, treat them with hope” — George Vaillant
